Overview

Weft commits to a single subject and lets every decision serve it: how light behaves inside woven silk. The page grid is drawn directly from a weave draft — a threading strip, a tie-up block, a treadling column, a drawdown field — rather than a conventional column layout. The hero is a real-time cloth simulation, lit with genuine thin-film interference to produce shot-silk iridescence and rendered with an anisotropic woven BRDF, so the fabric’s sheen shifts convincingly with viewing angle the way real woven silk does. The palette holds to moon white, ink blue-black and one crimson accent, and that crimson is used with real restraint — it marks only the thread currently running: section numbers, machine state, the selected option — while the actual colour, the shot-silk iridescence itself, lives only inside the WebGL cloth and never leaks into the UI. The whole site keeps its colour intensity in one place instead of spreading it thin.

Two real calculations carry the site: a WebGL2 hexagon-packing comb field, and a waggle-dance bearing calculator built on the actual relationship a forager's dance encodes. The comb field runs genuine flat-top axial and pixel conversion with cube-coordinate rounding and an exact hexagon SDF, while the waggle calculator combines a NOAA simplified solar-position formula with von Frisch's real sun-relative bearing relationship. Colonies, honey, sites, services, testimonials, and markets run as custom post types behind a working AJAX inquiry endpoint, for apiaries and small honey producers.
