Who it is for

Bakeries, patisseries, cake shops and bakehouse cafés — one of the most common small businesses on any high street. Their customers want four things before they walk over: what is fresh right now, whether the door is open, what it costs, and whether the bakery can make their cake. Crumb answers each one on the first screen they see.

A loaf baked live

The hero is a sourdough boule in the mouth of a wood-fired oven, rendered in WebGPU: the scores open as it bakes, the crust browns from pale dough to deep mahogany, the rice flour stays white where it was dusted, steam rises and the fire flickers behind it. Visitors can drag it round. A still of the same render is the first paint and the fallback.

Out of the oven today

Each menu item carries the times it comes out of the oven and the days it is baked. The home page hangs every bake of the day on an order rail as a paper ticket — out and fresh, in the oven with a countdown, or later — in the bakery’s own time zone, and the hero shows the next one. It stays right while the page is open.

Build a cake

Tiers, size, flavour, finish and extras: a 3D cake on a stand shows exactly that, with what it serves, the price from the bakery’s own per-serving rates and the first day it can be ready from the lead time and the open days. The order form carries the cake, offers only valid pickup days and is checked again on the server.

The menu as a printed menu with dotted price lines, oven times, diet notes and allergen badges, plus a "made without" filter; item pages with a baker’s card; opening hours with an open-now line in the header; a baker’s day on a 24-hour dial; a journal; Bakery and Menu structured data for search; and a one-click, repeatable demo import.
