Overview
Absolue is for a small, five-generation parfumerie house — the kind of site that leads with the formula, not a shopping cart.
Three things in it are real rather than decorative:
1. A real note-evaporation timeline. Top, heart and base notes are positioned on a genuine 0–10 hour axis by their actual relative volatility, not a decorative pyramid graphic.
2. A real concentration ladder. Extrait, eau de parfum, eau de toilette, eau de cologne and eau fraîche, with their real industry-standard percentage ranges and the wear-hours each buys.
3. A real seven-family wheel. The classic Osmothèque-era French perfumery classification, each segment a genuine 1/7th of the circle and linked to its taxonomy archive.
The persistent background is a single self-written WebGL2 fragment shader doing a slow, domain-warped gold flow — deliberately 2D: no 3D geometry, no volumetric raymarching, under three noise octaves for real performance headroom. Eight demo compositions span all seven classic families across five concentration tiers. Self-hosted Cormorant and EB Garamond.
