Timbre

Pluck the string. It's really synthesised. Timbre pairs a live Chladni-plate mode visualizer showing genuine resonance patterns with Karplus-Strong physical-modeling string synthesis — pluck the simulated string and hear a tone that's actually computed, not a sample. Built around two real acoustic-physics techniques luthiers use in practice, the site carries a warm parchment-and-tonewood palette with a copper accent, made for a bespoke string-instrument workshop.

Overview

Timbre is built around two acoustic-physics techniques a real luthier actually works with, not decorative approximations of them. A live Chladni-plate mode visualizer shows the genuine resonance patterns a maker uses to tune a soundboard — the same technique used on an actual workbench, sand or glitter on a vibrating plate revealing its nodal lines. And the site’s interactive centrepiece runs real Karplus-Strong physical-modeling string synthesis: a visitor can pluck a simulated string and hear a genuinely synthesised tone computed from the algorithm, not a sampled audio clip triggered on click. The palette — warm parchment and tonewood, with a copper accent — matches the workshop the theme is built for. This is the only theme in the catalogue whose signature interaction is audible rather than visual.

A one-of-a-kind jewelry maison storefront: a real Three.js/WebGL2 gem viewer lets shoppers drag-orbit each piece, swap between 18K gold, rose gold, platinum and blackened metal in real time, and read live facet-angle, refractive-index, critical-angle and fire-frequency numbers off an on-canvas HUD as the stone turns. A browsing-history-driven style curator recommends pieces from the visitor's own session, computed entirely client-side with no dependency on any external AI service. Runs as a compiled React/Vite storefront embedded inside a classic WordPress theme, with a custom "Luxury Products" catalogue (no WooCommerce dependency).

A persistent WebGL2 fluid field — real 2D simplex noise run through 5-octave curl-advected, pointer-reactive fractional Brownian motion, modelling crema and pour turbulence, switchable between Espresso Dark and Roastery Morning Light — behind a real SCA Golden Cup extraction calculator, a real Development Time Ratio roast simulator, a real Kozeny-Carman dripper lab, and the real SCA 100-point cupping protocol.

Two real calculations carry the site: a WebGL2 hexagon-packing comb field, and a waggle-dance bearing calculator built on the actual relationship a forager's dance encodes. The comb field runs genuine flat-top axial and pixel conversion with cube-coordinate rounding and an exact hexagon SDF, while the waggle calculator combines a NOAA simplified solar-position formula with von Frisch's real sun-relative bearing relationship. Colonies, honey, sites, services, testimonials, and markets run as custom post types behind a working AJAX inquiry endpoint, for apiaries and small honey producers.
