Proscenium
A season book, not a landing page. Proscenium opens with a velvet stage curtain that actually rises on load, then hands visitors a scrubbable repertoire rail, a full programme spread with a real cast list, and a hoverable interactive seat map. A hundred and twenty-eight years of archive is modelled as a genuine ledger index rather than a blog feed, set in Didone display type with nineteenth-century thick/thin contrast against oxblood velvet and tarnished gilt on ivory paper.

Overview
Proscenium’s visual language is a printed playbill from a house that has been open since 1897 — Didone display type with the extreme thick/thin contrast of a 19th-century theatre bill, condensed caps for the cast list, oxblood velvet and tarnished gilt on ivory paper stock. Two structural decisions keep it from drifting into a generic dark-hero template: the page is genuinely built as a book, with recto/verso spreads and a ledger-style archive index, and its signature interactions are all playbill mechanics rather than website mechanics — a velvet stage curtain that actually rises on load, a scrubbable repertoire rail a visitor drags through like a physical programme rack, a full programme spread carrying a real cast list, and a hoverable interactive seat map. A hundred and twenty-eight years of company history is modelled as a real ledger, browsable season by season, rather than dumped into a generic blog archive. Built for opera houses, ballet companies, symphony halls and festival venues.
