Overview

A theme for a bronze bell foundry and campanology workshop, headlined by a persistent, site-wide WebGL2 hero rendering the real vibrational eigenmodes of a circular elastic body — not a looping video or a static illustration. A hand-written WebGL2 scene evaluates the Bessel function of the first kind’s own power series live on the GPU by numerically-stable recurrence (term_k = term_(k-1) * (-(x/2)^2 / (k*(m+k))), no factorial ever formed explicitly), mapping five real bell partials (hum, prime, tierce, quint, nominal) to five (m, j) Bessel-mode pairs — where j is the n-th positive zero of that same Bessel function, chosen so the field vanishes exactly at the disk boundary (hand-verified: J_m(j) < 1.4e-5 for every mode pair used) — and cross-fades between them as the visitor scrolls, on a four-tier capability ladder with a runtime FPS watchdog. The commercial spine is a real bell-founding acoustics calculator: genuine Rayleigh circular-plate bending-vibration physics (f = (lambda^2/(2*pi*a^2))*t*sqrt(E/(12*rho*(1-nu^2)))), not a lookup table, deriving a bell's five true partial frequencies from its diameter, sound-bow thickness, and bronze alloy composition via the rule-of-mixtures density and interpolated stiffness of real elemental bronze constants. A third signature, the change-ringing plain-hunt diagram, genuinely generates a campanology row sequence from the real alternating adjacent-swap algorithm — provably returning to rounds after 2n rows and passing through backrounds at row n, both checked at runtime — rather than drawing a static 'blue line' illustration. Bells and Installations custom post types, plus a nonce-verified, honeypot-protected AJAX commission-inquiry intake, round out a working foundry site. Bronze, brass, and verdigris against foundry charcoal, on self-hosted Petrona and Albert Sans — a working craft, not a decorative shell.
