Who it is for

Independent locksmiths, lock and key shops, and emergency call-out services. People search for a locksmith when they are locked out or have just moved in, and they want a price and a person they can trust before they call. Tumbler answers those on the first screen.

The home page is the lock, taken apart

A section drawing of a pin-tumbler lock stays beside the copy while the page moves through its parts. At the housing it lifts away to show the springs, driver pins and key pins; at the services a pick sets one pin for each job; at the price the shear line lights; at the phone number the plug turns, shown face on in an end section. Visitors can also pick it themselves, with the pointer or the arrow keys.

A fixed price, by time window

Service, time window (daytime, evening, night and weekends) and add-ons in; a work-order ticket out with each line, the price for the work described, and the upper figure if parts have to be replaced. The same arithmetic runs on the server and in the browser, and the call-back request records what the caller was shown.

Built for trust

Guides carry a named author, the published and updated dates, and the standards they rely on. Editorial policy, privacy, warranty and terms pages are linked from every page. Licence, insurance and emergency-line details are settings, and the demo marks every fact a real business must supply as a placeholder.
