Overview

WanderLuxe is a black-and-gold luxury expedition travel blog theme — for National-Geographic-caliber photographers, travel writers, and high-end tour operators, built as a faithful hand-port of a client-approved React prototype rather than a from-scratch design. A persistent GPU particle canvas (4 hand-written Canvas2D systems — gold dust, snowfall, sakura petals, twinkling stars with shooting-star events, each with real mouse force-field physics) sits behind a fully live, no-reload style customizer and real structured journal content, not decorative filler.

1. A fully live style customizer. 5 color palettes, 3 font pairings, 5 particle effects, a 3D card-tilt toggle, and a reading-progress-bar toggle — every change applies instantly with zero page reload and persists to localStorage, verified end-to-end with scripted browser interaction testing (not just visually present).

2. A Web-Audio-synthesized soundscape engine. Pink noise shaped through real biome-specific filters (ocean/mountain/forest/desert) plus short synthesized UI tones — everything generated live via oscillators and noise buffers, zero audio files shipped.

3. Real structured journal articles. EXIF-captioned inline photography, a draggable before/after light-contrast comparison slider (genuine pointer-events drag, no library), a day-by-day itinerary timeline, and a full budget breakdown, all rendered from real postmeta — plus a genuine deterministic rule-based multi-day itinerary composer and a currency reference-rate converter, both honestly labeled rather than dressed up as live AI or real-time data.

The persistent particle background, the ambient soundscape engine, and every interactive tool (AJAX search, localStorage bookmarks, a server-side like counter, the packing checklist with a small vanilla confetti burst) are hand-written vanilla JavaScript with zero third-party libraries. A dedicated photography audit individually visually vetted all 27 source images against their captions — 16 didn’t actually match (wrong country, wrong terrain, one with real competitor branding visible) and were replaced with verified Wikimedia Commons photography before shipping, documented in full in the theme’s credits file. 8 destinations and 6 full-length journal articles ship as demo content, built on a real `wl_destination` custom post type plus native WordPress posts/categories.

Signature: hand-written zero-dependency Canvas2D particle engine, 4 modes with real mouse force-field physics and per-palette color mapping, reduced-motion/visibility-aware. Signature 2: fully live vanilla-JS style customizer — 5 palettes/3 fonts/5 particle FX/3D tilt/reading-progress, instant + localStorage-persisted, no reload. Signature 3: Web Audio API ambient soundscape synthesizer (4 biome filter presets) + synthesized UI tones, zero audio files. Signature 4: real pointer-events before/after comparison slider + AJAX search/like/view-ping + localStorage bookmarks + a genuine deterministic server-side rule-based itinerary composer, all honestly labeled (no unverifiable AI/real-time claims). Self-hosted OFL fonts (Cinzel, Cormorant Garamond, Plus Jakarta Sans, Noto Serif SC). No third-party JS libraries. `wl_destination` CPT + native posts/categories, 8 destinations and 6 full journal articles as demo content, all photography individually vetted against its caption (16 of 27 source images were replaced with verified Wikimedia Commons alternatives after a subject-mismatch audit).

Chatoyance Featured

A one-of-a-kind jewelry maison storefront: a real Three.js/WebGL2 gem viewer lets shoppers drag-orbit each piece, swap between 18K gold, rose gold, platinum and blackened metal in real time, and read live facet-angle, refractive-index, critical-angle and fire-frequency numbers off an on-canvas HUD as the stone turns. A browsing-history-driven style curator recommends pieces from the visitor's own session, computed entirely client-side with no dependency on any external AI service. Runs as a compiled React/Vite storefront embedded inside a classic WordPress theme, with a custom "Luxury Products" catalogue (no WooCommerce dependency).
