Billet

A real blackbody-radiation GPU forged-steel shader for a background — cold steel-blue warming through dull red, orange, and yellow-white with heat shimmer and sparks as you scroll — plus a real forging heat-color chart, a real press-force calculator, and a real ASTM/AISI steel-grade comparator.

Overview

Billet is a heavy steel forging and fabrication works theme — open-die forging, closed-die/drop forging, seamless rolled rings, heat treatment, and NDT-inspected custom fabrication for energy, oil & gas, aerospace, mining, and marine clients. The persistent background isn’t a static dark gradient: it’s a hand-written WebGL2 shader rendering a real blackbody-radiation heat-color progression across a glowing forged-steel surface, and every interactive tool on the site runs on real metal-forming engineering data.

1. A real forging heat-color chart. The genuine visual method forge operators use to judge steel temperature by eye — seven real stages from black through dull red, cherry red, orange, and yellow-white, each naming the forging operation appropriate at that heat, grounded in blackbody-radiation physics and standard forging references.

2. A real press-force / tonnage calculator. The standard flow-stress forging-force estimate F = k × Y × A (Kalpakjian & Schmid; ASM Handbook Vol. 14A) — pick a billet cross-section, a forging type (open-die vs. closed-die), and a material family, and see the real approximate required press tonnage, with an honest caveat about production-scale variables.

3. A real steel-grade mechanical properties comparator. Genuine published ASTM A36 / SAE J403-J404 AISI 1045/4130/4140/4340 yield strength, tensile strength, and elongation ranges in a toggleable comparator, not invented numbers.

The signature GPU background renders a glowing forged-steel surface from a hand-written WebGL2 fragment shader — a domain-warped height field driving both a real Blinn-Phong specular sheen and a real blackbody-radiation colour ramp, cold steel-blue at the top of the page warming through dull red, orange, and bright yellow-orange with visible heat shimmer and drifting sparks by the bottom. 12 demo forging/fabrication projects across 6 real service lines with real sourced industrial photography, every project entirely fictional — no real client, plant, or facility represented.

Signature: hand-written zero-dependency WebGL2 forged-steel shader — domain-warped height-field normals driving Blinn-Phong specular sheen plus a real blackbody-radiation colour ramp, scroll-tied heat narrative (cold steel to white-hot) with heat shimmer and ember sparks. Signature 2: real F = k x Y x A forging press-force/tonnage calculator (Kalpakjian & Schmid; ASM Handbook Vol. 14A). Signature 3: real forging heat-color reference chart. Signature 4: real ASTM/AISI steel-grade mechanical-properties comparator. Capability-gated: reduced-motion/no-WebGL2/weak-GPU/save-data never touch the live canvas, CSS fallback only. Self-hosted OFL fonts. No third-party JS libraries. 12 demo forging/fabrication projects across 6 real service lines with real sourced photography, all entirely fictional.

Release

v1.0.0 A real blackbody-radiation GPU forged-steel shader for a background — cold steel-blue warming through dull red, orange, and yellow-white with heat shimmer and sparks as you scroll — plus a real forging heat-color chart, a real press-force calculator, and a real ASTM/AISI steel-grade comparator.

The complete, dated version history ships in the theme’s CHANGELOG file. Every purchase includes lifetime access to future updates.

A one-of-a-kind jewelry maison storefront: a real Three.js/WebGL2 gem viewer lets shoppers drag-orbit each piece, swap between 18K gold, rose gold, platinum and blackened metal in real time, and read live facet-angle, refractive-index, critical-angle and fire-frequency numbers off an on-canvas HUD as the stone turns. A browsing-history-driven style curator recommends pieces from the visitor's own session, computed entirely client-side with no dependency on any external AI service. Runs as a compiled React/Vite storefront embedded inside a classic WordPress theme, with a custom "Luxury Products" catalogue (no WooCommerce dependency).
