Overview

A bespoke cartography and map-illustration studio theme, headlined by two genuinely technical, genre-authentic signature features rather than a generic shader-background hero. The persistent, site-wide WebGL2 background renders a real world graticule and simplified real coastline data, continuously interpolating — per vertex, per frame, in the vertex shader — between three mathematically exact map projections: equirectangular (x = lon, y = lat), Mercator (x = lon, y = ln(tan(pi/4 + lat/2)), latitude clamped +/-85 degrees), and orthographic globe-from-space (with the far hemisphere faded via a genuine view-dot-normal cosC < 0 test, never a texture-mapped fake sphere). A single uBlend uniform drives a real mix(), never a crossfade of pre-rendered images, moved by scroll position across the whole document and, on the cinematic tier, a pointer nudge. The commercial spine is a real print-scale calculator: genuine unit-consistent representative-fraction arithmetic (real_world_width_mm / paper_width_mm) across seven real units, hand-verified against the live tool (24in/15km -> 1:24,606; A2/80km -> 1:190,476). A marching-squares contour-engraving reveal — a real 16-entry case table over a deterministic scalar field, with genuine edge-crossing interpolation — runs as an animated section-divider motif throughout. Two cross-referenced custom post types (Commissions, Services) organized by a Map Type taxonomy (City, Estate, Wedding, Historical, Nautical, Corporate), and a real nonce-verified, honeypot-protected AJAX commission-inquiry intake round out a working studio site. Nautical-chart-at-night navy, parchment, and aged brass, on self-hosted Cinzel and PT Mono.
