MaillardCoffee Shop WordPress Theme

Every batch, a published temperature curve. Maillard's hero is a real 2D finite-difference heat-diffusion simulation of a bean roasting, rendered live as a WebGL2 heat-map — first and second crack trigger genuine particle bursts straight off the simulation's own temperature state, with a persistent chaff-and-ember field drifting across the whole site. Roast, Origin and Roaster are real custom post types with a Roast Category taxonomy, laid out on a "Roast Log" scroll page with a temperature-colour-coded rail, plus an AJAX wholesale enquiry form for cafe accounts.

Overview

Maillard is a precision specialty-coffee-roastery theme built around a genuine finite-difference simulation of the heat equation. Its signature hero doesn’t fake a roast with video or CSS animation — it runs a real 2D heat-diffusion solve over a bean’s elliptical cross-section, forcing the surface to a rising drum-air-temperature curve every step, so heat visibly propagates from surface to core exactly as it does in a physical bean. First-crack and second-crack particle bursts fire off the simulation’s own temperature thresholds, not a timeline. A persistent, site-wide WebGL2 chaff/ember particle field runs behind every page. The ‘Roast Log’ layout archetype encodes the roast’s own colour arc directly into a lab-notebook timeline rail — green to ember to roasted-ink brown. Ships with Roasts, Origins, and Roasters post types, a wholesale/cafe enquiry form, and full reduced-motion and no-WebGL2 fallbacks.
